Giclee printing is a relatively new printing technique
that allows artists to get the highest quality archival
reproductions of their artwork. Giclee (pronounced
"zhee-clay") is French for "squirt"
or "spray". The process includes digital
precision that provides incredible detail and brilliant
color. (Because no screens are used, the prints have
a higher apparent resolution than lithographs and
a dynamic color range similar to a serigraph.) Giclees
can be printed on heavyweight artist paper, watercolor
paper, or canvas. Because giclee prints have a higher
resolution and greater dynamic color range than lithographs,
the prints capture every brush stroke so that it is
almost impossible to distinguish the prints from the
original art. We choose Giclee prints for our limited
edition reproductions to guarantee our clients and
customers the best quality available.
